Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve: This sanctuary is also called as the Thekkady. This national park is home to the large number of populations to tigers and elephants. There is a big lake inside the national park.

Silent Valley National Park: This national park is located in the district of Palghat. This national park is home to some of the animals like the elephants, lions and tigers. This national park is also home to the rare plants.
